FADED SESSIONS
INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE THE session
Get to know the DJs who will be in the room. Check out their IGs on the timetable
We will create an Instagram group chat for you guys to connect beforehand
You can bring 2-3 friends to hang out but beware to avoid disrupting DJs from their recording
You can BYO food and drinks. When you leave, please put all rubbish in the bin and leave the space as you’ve found it
arrival
Address: 72 Rivington St, London EC2A 3AY
When you arrive at the Bread & Butter retail shop, follow the steep stairs to get to the very top
Tim or Luc from Matter Of Time will be there to set you up, bring out the Go Pro and other materials needed for recording
If there’s any issues during the session, call Tim +44 7513 435718 for support
They will also be back to lock up all equipment when your session finishes
If you need to turn the aircon on, the thermostat is in the kitchen opposite the fridge
There is a sunset lamp owned by Faded Society if you’d like to use
Find the instructions board (below) on the shelf below the DJ decks and read through
after the session
Take the USB and SD (full case with the card reader) and put it into the pre-stamped envelope
Do not send the whole box (just the 1x used USB and 1x used SD card)
Please nominate one person from the group to drop the sealed envelope in the postbox nearby
See the map to see where the postboxes are. There’s one towards Shoreditch High St station or the other way towards Old St Station
Please text into the IG group chat to confirm once the envelope is posted
go pro recording
It’s very important that you read and understand all of these points if you don’t want to lose your recording:
Tim or Luc will set up the Go Pro and load the micro SD card provided by Faded Society
The SD card lives in the green box (pictured above) permanently in the cupboard
If Tim or Luke forgets to load the SD then ask them about the box
Leave the Go Pro on record for the entire session
Do not dance around the Go Pro as the wooden floorboards are old and shake. Avoid these wooden panels as much as possible and just hang out in the couch area
audio recording
It’s very important that you read and understand all of these points if you don’t want to lose your recording:
There is a Faded Society tagged USB also in the green box (pictured above) to be used
This FS USB must always be in the second USB port and recorded for the entire session
The recorder light must be flashing red in the second USB port to confirm that it’s recording
There’s a QR code on the board on the shelf (pictured) if you need to watch a quick tutorial on which button to press record
Or pre watch here https://youtu.be/hk8e47MZz3s?si=J2ppA7Vr7m0v_9wE
You can play whatever music or genre you like. It could be what you normally play or something completely different to show a new angle
Time your own set and avoid going overtime
DJs in the room should also be responsible for time keeping
There’s plenty of buffer time provided to get you set up, recording and pass over to each other
You can talk during your set or any DJ’s set as the Go Pro sound will be embedded with the USB audio
dj set
Respect the space and the equipment
If anything is reported damaged or lost then the whole group in the session will be penalized so please be mindful and respectful
Also be careful using all steep stairs in the building. We won’t be held accountable for any accidents
Try not to leave drinks on the desk where the MAC screen and equipment is
The toilet and kitchen is free to use outside of the studio
Put all rubbish in the bin before you leave
Do not leave any of your belongings behind
If you’ve got questions before the session, ask us in the Instagram group. If there are troubleshoot issues then call Tim from the studio +44 7513 435718 for support
